No study = No podcast.

I have fallen behind in my studying. I cannot justify creating a podcast until I am caught up again. I should be caught up by tomorrow. I bit off a bit more than I could chew and then became discouraged with my # of reviews rising to 350 sentences per day. I will take this as a lesson, along with other lessons I may write about in the future.

I’m off to an English camp for elementary school kids. The next podcast is planned out, but I wanted to talk about the English camp as well. I’ll have pictures, stories, etc. in a day or so.

Late Podcast

Because I was studying and working on the most recent article(should be up soon), this week’s podcast is going to be about 1-2 days late. It will still happen, and the special episodes about alcohol and dating in Japan are also still on the docket. As well, I remember I also promised to cover some easy recipes and food for exchange students in Japan. I’ll try to get that started now that I’m mostly done with school for the summer.

Thanks for all your comments, complaints, input, and suggestions. I appreciate it all.

Taking the JLPT

I’ve decided I’m going to take the JLPT this year since I’m in Japan and I’ll have time to study for it. I’m going to shoot for 2-kyuu even though it might be a little too hard for me. I’d rather take it and have it be too hard, than take 3-kyuu and pass it with flying colors. This isn’t about confidence. It’s about being pushed to learn more Japanese. By studying for 2-kyuu over the summer, I think I can really do it.

Because of this, I’m going to try to do some semi-daily status updates as to my study progress. I’ll do a write-up here shortly about my study methods, and specifically how I plan to study. It should be a lot of fun, and I hope I can inspire a few other people to study hard to pass exams that currently seem too hard.

I know if I even took 3-kyuu now I’d probably fail, but the test isn’t until mid-December. That gives me a number of months to study and become better. I see how fast my Japanese has progressed since I got here in May, and I know I can become good enough to pass 2-kyuu. I can feel it.

For those of you in the United States used to getting this podcast on Thursday morning, this week’s should go up on Thursday night. This has to do with the time differences and a holiday from school tomorrow. I just wanted to post this to let you all know that I haven’t forgotten about you. Hello, everybody. My name is John Rozewicki. Welcome to the website for my newest project, the Japan Study Abroad Podcast. It is a very boring name, but it is precisely accurate as to what the content of this show will be like. Production should spool up nicely in the next few weeks.

I have the first few episodes produced, but I’m waiting to release them so that I’ll have a little bit of a buffer. For right now, enjoy the sparse design of the site. Bookmark it for later.
